Bail in Connecticut is the amount of money a defendant must post to be released from custody while awaiting trialThe amount is set by judges, pretrial services staff, or police to ensure that the defendant goes to court or returns if released after being arrested. Bail conditions can range from a written promise to appear to a monetary bond. The defendant must post the bond amount in cash or procure a commercially secured bond to be released.
